After our field trip to Miller Farms, each child brought in 2 cleaned and washed veggies. We read a story called Stone Soup about 2 pigs who stopped at a village for the night. The villagers were rude and would not offer a place to stay or food. The pigs taught them a secret recipe called stone soup that got all of the villagers involved until the end when they had a feast. The secret was putting washed stones in the soup to give it flavor. We made our own stone soup (complete with stones) and ate it as well as shared it with other teachers and our third grade buddies. We made 3 big pots of it and ate it all! One pot even had mushrooms which was a fun treat!
