Teddy Bear Picnic

To finish our learning about our 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt, we had a teddy bear picnic. We learned that Theodore Roosevelt had the nickname Teddy. One day he was out hunting and his friend shot at a bear and missed. Teddy would not shoot it because he did not think that it was fair to shoot a bear that was already confused from the first shot. When toy companies heard about this, they decided to name the already popular stuffed bear the "Teddy bear." For our picnic, we brought our own teddy bears and had cookies and juice. We also had a teddy bear parade and read a story about a cranky bear!
